Brendan Philip is a Toronto based singer & songwriter and OSC Cross’ very first sponsored artist. His unique sound, vocals, and stage presence (in addition to his confident style-sense) make this partnership a natural one, and we are proud to support this incredible musical talent.
Philip’s sound is minimal, coupled with intimate prose, varying between acoustic guitar and electronic music. “I would just like to create music that is like a painting using all the primary colours then smearing all of them together so that each song is a sonic evolution quality of blending all the sounds and words in the songs so that each project becomes a vast ambient space,” says Brendan.

In early January 2013, a team of cardiologists and a heart transplant recipient headed down to the South Pole to raise awareness for heart health and the Heart Failure program at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, University Health Network.
On the current Test Your Limits trek, the entire team is outfitted in the ‘MISSION’ coat, the latest expedition downwear from Outdoor Survival Canada. Dr. Ross and Dr. Diego did their training in sister brand OSC Cross’ lightweight down-filled midlayers, and took the packable jackets with them to the South Pole.
“… all of the little details and features make the biggest difference when you are exposed to the elements,” says Dr. Heather Ross.

The Antarctic Book of Cooking and Cleaning pays homage to the scientists currently working in Antarctica but also the determined early scientists and explorers of this ice continent who endured unimaginable conditions surviving on penguin meat and dog paw stew. Taking inspiration from the journals and newsletters of historic polar explorers, such as Shackleton’s South Polar Times and Sir Douglas Mawson’s Adelie Blizzard, The Antarctic Book of Cooking and Cleaning draws on the journals, letters, recipes, menu plans and provision lists of Carol Devine and Wendy Trusler written from December 1995–March 1996.
OSC Cross has partnered with ABCC to celebrate the 2013 launch of their book, including the production of a limited edition collaborative OSC Cross x ABCC scarf for their exclusive pre-order customers.
